Earned $70 million in its domestic
opening weekend, more than the $65 million Pitch Perfect (2012)
earned during its entire domestic theatrical run. The only other sequel to have
out-earned the original in its first weekend was Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
(1999).
Ben Platt (Benji) took time off of
his run in The Book of Mormon on Broadway to film this movie. There he was
playing the musical's lead character Elder Cunningham eight times a week.

In the Barden Bella's World
Championship performance (final performance), you can hear Rebel Wilson singing
"Kitty Cat" background during their "GIRLS" portion of the
song. This is a tribute to Rebel's appearance on the 'Ellen Degeneres' show,
where the duo made a fake hip hop group called "Rebellen" where their
first single was called "Watching Cats on the Internet". You can hear
it clearly on the soundtrack performance (1:12)

speaks five times in the film.
