TRIVIA: On the advice of the director, Stephen Frears, Ben Whishaw met with the real Norman Scott during the course of the production to hear his account of the events.

This is the third time Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw worked together. Their first was Cloud Atlas (2012) and the second was Paddington 2 (2017).

TRIVIA: HBO originally passed on the pilot. HBO later picked up the series after James Gandolfiniand Steven Zaillian agreed to make a mini-series instead of an open-ended series. Gandolfini died suddenly a month later.

Robert De Niro stepped in to take over the role originally played by the late James Gandolfini. When scheduling issues forced De Niro to drop out, John Turturro took the role.

It is a joint project between the BBC and HBO.

Michael Kenneth Williams (Freddy) and J.D. Williams (Trevor) both had roles in "The Wire" as Bodie Broadus and Omar Little.
