TRIVIA: In October 2007, Charlize Theron said in an interview in Esquire magazine that "Reindeer Games" was her least favorite of all her films. She said: "That was a bad, bad, bad movie. But I got to work with John Frankenheimer. I wasn't lying to myself - that's why I did it."

According to Danny Trejo, the reason Vin Diesel was replaced in the role that Donal Logue wound up playing was because Diesel was offered a starring role in The Fast and the Furious (2001). Diesel wisely went with The Fast and the Furious (2001), and was discharged from this movie.

Mariah Carey was scheduled to film a cameo. However, her scenes were never filmed. Will Ferrell recalled that Carey showed up four hours late, then didn't want to do the scene she had agreed to do. Carey then delayed production, as she didn't want to sing the song, one of her own, that she was supposed to sing. This would have required the legal department to clear the song. Carey also required her trailer to be filled with white flowers and stuffed animals of lambs. Carey's scene was ultimately not filmed.

Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll were a couple from 2013 to 2015.

TRIVIA: The role of Commander Kevin Dunne was originally written for and offered to 'Will Smith'.

The original ending, which was a massive special effects sequence created by Industrial Light and Magic, involved a huge tidal wave going through the casino. This ending was cut out in post-production. Numerous references to it still remain in the final film: a shot near the end of the film shows an ambulance driving down an ocean-side road with a wave about to crash into it before the film cuts to another shot; Nicholas Cage's character talks about almost drowning at the very end of the film; references to a storm are made throughout the entire film, which were all meant to build up to the action-packed climax that was cut out.

The ringside drunk says, "Here come comes the pain," a line also spoken in another Brian De Palma film, Carlito's Way (1993).

Film 890: Ocean’s Thirteen

Trivia: Al Pacino was director Steven Soderbergh's first choice for the role of Willie Bank. The film's producer, Jerry Weintraub, a friend of Pacino's, persuaded him to join the cast.

The fake nose Matt Damon wears is an in-joke reference to The Brothers Grimm, in which director Terry Gilliam wanted the actor to wear a fake nose but the studio vetoed it.

The film's translation in Russia is "13 Friends of Ocean".

Rusty's ring-tone is "Don't You Want Me" by The Human League.

Linus's fake nose ploy is "The Brody", a reference to actor Adrien Brody.

The Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow logos at the front of the film are styled in homage to the 1970s/1980s intro animation to New York station WOR-TV's "4 O'Clock Movie," and the accompanying music is identical.

The numbers that Mr. Weng picks to win at the roulette wheel are 11, 12 and 13 - the numbers of the three "Ocean" movies, thus far.
