FILM 1793: THE EQUALIZER

FILM 1793: THE EQUALIZER

TRIVIA: The script originally has no back story about Robert, so Denzel Washington contributed much to the character's background and back story, including Robert having obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In addition to his daily physical and fight training before filming, Washington met and interviewed several real-life OCD people as to gain insights of how to play that disorder correctly.

Slavi refers to Robert as "dedushka" when they meet at the restaurant. This is Russian for "grandfather".

Teri was originally written for an older actress, but ChloĆ« Grace Moretz impressed director Antoine Fuqua so much, he made the role younger.

Based on the classic television series starring Edward Woodward.

When McCall contacts the FBI after he takes over the money room and then leaves Detective Masters for the Boston PD, he asks for Agent Mosely. This is an easter egg to the Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin movie Midnight Run (1988). FBI Agent Mosely was played by Yaphet Kotto.

The book that McCall is reading after 'The Old Man & the Sea' is most likely 'Don Quijote de La Mancha', written by Miguel de Cervantes and published in 1605.

At the beginning, in Robert's home, when the bookcase is shown, there are leather bound books. These appear to be from the Franklin Library/Franklin Mint, these were offered as a set back in the '80s.

At the end of this film macall puts down a book the invisible man the star of this is edward Woodward The original equilizer

FILM 1210: UNSTOPPABLE

TRIVIA: The film is inspired by the "Crazy Eights" unmanned train incident in 2001. The train, led by CSX Transportation SD40-2 #8888, left its Walbridge, Ohio, rail yard and began a 66-mile (106 km) journey through northwest Ohio with no one at the controls, after the engineer got out of the originally slow-moving train to correctly line a switch, mistakenly believing he had properly set the train's dynamic braking system, just as his counterpart in the movie did. Two of the real train's tank cars also contained thousands of gallons of molten phenol, similar to the fictional train in the film.

Tony Scott's final film before his death in 2012.

Jess Knowlton served as a technical advisor to this film. He was the engineer who chased after CSX 8888 in the real incident, eventually coupling up and slowing that train enough for someone to climb aboard and stop it.

Animal noises were used to make the 777 train sound more menacing.

Film 869: Flight

Trivia: Olivia Wilde and Dominique McElligott were considered for the role of Nicole.

Reunites Denzel Washington and John Goodman, who worked together in Fallen. It also reunites Washington with Don Cheadle, who worked together in Devil in a Blue Dress.

Robert Zemeckis' first live-action movie since Cast Away.

According to producers Steve Starkey and Jack Rapke (during a Q&A session with the Producers' Guild on October 18th, 2012), the primary airplane in the film is a pastiche of several existing commercial airliners so as to not ID a particular plane or airline in the film. Also, no promotional consideration was paid by any of the alcohol brands featured in the movie; they decided to feature beer, wine and hard liquor brands for one shot only so as not to "endorse" any of them.

When the audience is first introduced to John Goodman's character, he's listening to "Sympathy For The Devil". This song also appeared in Fallen which also starred him and Denzel Washington.

Film 808: The Book of Eli

Trivia: Kristen Stewart turned down Mila Kunis' role due to scheduling conflicts with New Moon.

Denzel Washington performed all of his own stunts in the hand-to-hand fight sequences.

The reason the cannibals' hands shake is because they suffer from Kuru disease - a form of Kreutzfeld Jakob Disease caused by eating human Brains or Spinal Columns. The first symptom is shaking limbs , which is why people check Eli's hands throughout the movie.

Denzel Washington shed about 50 pounds in preparation for the role.

Gary Oldman was cast at the suggestion of Denzel Washington.
