FILM 1572: BLENDED

TRIVIA: Jim mentions that he manages a Dick's Sporting Goods store in Ridgefield. Ridgefield was the name of the town that The Wedding Singer (1998) was set in.

This is the third Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore film, the first being The Wedding Singer (1998) and the second being 50 First Dates (2004).

The name ESPN for Adam Sandler's character's daughter in the movie came from Adam's visit to a BBQ restaurant in Boca Raton. The owner had pictures of his kids up, and one of their names was Espn. Adam thought it was a really fun name and asked the owner if he could use it in his new movie for one of his kids. Obviously the owner was happy to oblige.

The band that sings backup for Terry Crews is Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

FILM 1522: MUSIC AND LYRICS

TRIVIA: As a child, Hugh Grant took piano lessons from Andrew Lloyd Webber's mother. At some point, he stopped piano lessons and subsequently forgot what he had learned. Prior to the filming of the movie, he was taught to play the portions where his hands would be visible on the keys.

Hugh Grant had to be convinced to sing himself and initially wanted nothing to do with his singing parts. After practicing and performing in the studio, he then felt so comfortable with it and announced he would perform the big concert scene live. When it was played back he was highly amused and humbled by how terrible it sounded and was then happy to use the pre-recorded sound.

The film's director/producer/writer Marc Lawrence offered "Dance With Me Tonight" to Hugh Grant while he was trying to find the right song to sing during one scene. What he didn't tell him was that Marc's 13-year-old son, Clyde Lawrence, wrote it. On the soundtrack, Clyde actually plays the piano.

FILM 1414: EVER AFTER: A CINDERELLA STORY

TRIVIA: In the movie, Danielle rescues the prince from gypsies by carrying him on her back. According to legend, when King Conrad III defeated the Duke of Welf (in the year 1140) and placed Weinsberg under siege, the wives of the besieged castle negotiated a surrender which granted them the right to leave with whatever they could carry on their shoulders. The king allowed them that much. Leaving everything else aside, each woman took her own husband on her shoulders and carried him out. When the king's people saw what was happening, many of them said that that was not what had been meant and wanted to put a stop to it. But the king laughed and accepted the women's clever trick. "A king" he said, "should always stand by his word."

As depicted in the film, the real Leonardo da Vinci kept the Mona Lisa with him all the time until his death.

When Danielle is swimming in the lake, she is using the inverted breaststroke. It was popular in medieval and Renaissance Europe, and is still commonly taught as a survival stroke. In Australia, it is called the "survival backstroke."

Jude Law and Jonny Lee Miller turned down the role of Prince Henry.

FILM 1110: POISON IVY

TRIVIA: Drew Barrymore failed to attend her first audition. Director, Katt Shea Ruben wanted Drew for the part of Ivy and arranged another audition which Drew Barrymore also failed to attend. After Katt Shea spoke to Drew's agent and told her she was no longer interested in her for the lead, she pleaded with Katt to give Drew another change. Drew ended up auditioning at Katt Shea Ruben's house not knowing that the director had already decided she had the job.

Cheryl Ladd is best known for her role in the hit TV show Charlie's Angels (1976). Her Poison Ivy co-star Drew Barrymore went on to star in the movie adaptation, Charlie's Angels (2000), in 2000.

Based on an experience that producer Melissa Goddard had when she was younger. She had a friend stay with her and her family and eventually she seduced her father.

Film 994: Scream

Trivia: When Bob Weinstein watched parts of the first scenes filmed (rough cuts), he said that the mask used was "idiotic". He asked the producers to film one scene with seven different masks and let him choose the one he liked the most. Producers didn't agree and threatened to shut down production. They told him to wait until the first sequence (Drew Barrymore's) was completed and then he could decide. After watching it, he happily agreed to the mask used and didn't make another complaint for the rest of the filming.

To keep Drew Barrymore looking scared and crying, director Wes Craven kept telling her real life stories about animal cruelty. She is a keen animal lover in real life.

The special effects artists used about 50 gallons of blood.

Tatum's house is right across the street from the house in Santa Rosa, California used in Pollyanna. It is also across the street from the house used in Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt. The house in the opening scene was next door to the house used in Cujo.

Being a favorite of the writer Kevin Williamson, Molly Ringwald was offered the role of Sydney Prescott, but turned it down, saying she'd rather not be playing a high school student at the age of 27.

Tatum says that the situation is like a Wes Carpenter film. This is a reference to Wes Craven, who directed the movie, and John Carpenter, who directed Halloween, which is featured in the movie.

Brooke Shields was nearly cast as Gale Weathers after Janeane Garofalo turned the role down.

When Jamie Kennedy is explaining the rules of the horror film to the group, a video case on top of the TV clearly shows 'SCREAM' as one of the videos.
