Film 909: The Silence

Trivia: Director Baran bo Odar, along with the films cinematographer, watched several westerns before shooting this picture. This was to give the movie more of a western style to it instead of being just another thriller.

The seemingly obvious reference to Fargo, having Jule Böwe play a pregnant cop, is in fact not a reference. When she auditioned for the part it wasn't known she was pregnant. It wasn't until she got the part that she told the director she was three months pregnant, when she in fact was six months pregnant. In the end the director liked the idea and decided to write it into the script.

Director Baran bo Odar has said that South Korean movie _Salinui chueok (2003)_ was a big inspiration for this movie.

The film has no opening credits.

Film 885: The Possession

Trivia: While promoting the film on Craig Ferguson [airdate 8/29/12], Jeffrey Dean Morgan reported that strange incidents took place during production that couldn't be explained. Lights exploded during the filming of key scenes; and just two days after wrapping principal photography, all of the props for the film, stored in case of re-shoots, were destroyed in a fire that mysteriously erupted from within the storage-house.

In the final scenes Em takes hiding in the hospital's morgue. A hospital's morgue plays a crucial part in Ole Bornedal's breakthrough movie Nightwatch (1997).
